In an achievement that reflects the advanced scientific standing of the cadres of the Arab University for Science and Technology, Dr. Safouh Al-Sabai, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, participated in the 20th Asian Ministerial Meeting of Asia and Oceania 2025 on Anti-Doping, which was held in Dubai. The United Arab Emirates, organized by the National Anti-Doping Agency and sponsored by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Dr. Al-Sabai represented the Syrian Arab Republic alone at this forum, which brought together representatives from 33 countries, including 10 ministers and a number of senior experts and officials from the World Anti-Doping Agency.
During his participation, Al-Sabai explained the awareness-raising efforts and educational programs in Syrian universities to combat doping. He also reviewed his role in managing the UNESCO Doping Awareness Program, emphasizing the importance of integrating this issue into graduation projects and scientific research, particularly in colleges of pharmacy. He also presented a practical model of research related to hormones and nutritional supplements.
Dr. Al-Sabai also emphasized the Arab University for Science and Technology's commitment to supporting all global scientific efforts that contribute to educating youth and the academic community about the dangers of doping and the importance of clean sport.
