Synthesizing and Using Iron Oxide Nanoparticles as Nanocomposite in Cotton Fabrics Nanofinishing

Doctor Ziad Saffour

Abstract:

In this research, cotton fabric was treated with different metal oxides in order to give the fabrics new functional properties that it did not have before, namely electrical conductivity and UV resistance. Metal oxides do not generally have any affinity towards cotton fabrics, so dispersions were prepared for treatment that include metal oxide in addition to a polymer that acts as an adhesive that binds the metal oxide to the surface of the fabric, forming what can be called a composite material.
