* On 5/2/2023, Mrs. Dr. Yusr Al-Sayyid Suleiman Al-Atassi gave a lecture on deep learning.
This lecture aims to introduce the science of deep learning, which is considered an important part of the science of machine learning and artificial intelligence, and its most important applications such as: face recognition, emotion recognition, design of some drugs, medical diagnosis, electronic commerce..
The types of learning and the focus on supervised learning were also clarified.
After that, the doctor explained the structure of the biological neuron and compared it with the artificial neuron and explained the general structure of the multi-layer neural network. She began by reviewing some basic deep networks such as the convolutional neural network (CNN).
The doctor explained the structure of this network, the types of layers that make up it, and the most important applications such as image classification, skin disease classification, and object detection. After that, she reviewed recursive networks (RNNs) and their applications such as price prediction and text completion. She also explained the problems that these networks suffer from and the ways to address them, such as Using LSTM networks for long short-term memory.
