The silication process is one of the surface treatment technologies by which a Silic and its compounds in the steel pleasent particular severity and high resistance to corrosion and that can produce silic containing with high hardness, good corrosion, and wear resistance on the steel matrix.
This study aims to improve the add the silic on carbon steel used in the manufacturing some of machine elements by chemical vapor deposition method. and to increase the toughness and resilience and resistance to shock and friction, also earning silic Steel considerable resistance to corrosion and scratching and solubility in acid.
where silication process was applied for (2)hour at temperature 665,1000,1100,1200 oC, and using ammonium chloride and ammonium fluoride in a mixture silication.
Found that the rate of silic formed on the surface of steel and its compounds can be the best at heat treatment of the degree to 1100oC using ammonium fluoride in a mixture silic, and also increases hardness of the outer surface of carbon steel at the same previous conditions.
