Based on the Arab Private University for Science and Technology's endeavor towards a healthy society, and within the direction of the university administration to cooperate with the local community and concerned authorities to spread awareness among young people about social and health scourges in their modern forms that threaten the stability and cohesion of society.
The Arab Private University participated in the seminar organized by the Syrian Historical Scientific Society and the Fraternal Association Society entitled Modern Addictions and Digital Drugs, lectured by Dr. Safouh Al-Sebai, a member of the National Ministerial Committee to Combat Drugs, and a faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmacy, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Adnan Younis, President of the University and Dr. Mustafa Al-Masri, Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs.
Dr. Al-Sebai stressed the need to enhance awareness to prevent the catastrophic dangers of addiction in all its forms and forms by continuing health education, spreading science and knowledge in society, consolidating spiritual values, practicing sports, developing talents in various humanitarian arts, and stimulating the positive energy of individuals permanently.
Dr. Al-Sebai reviewed the types and forms of addiction that affect different ages, the most dangerous of which today is audio addiction via the Internet, which causes a person to lose balance and control and the brain conflicts that occur, indicating that the terrorism industry in the world is mainly based on such models of addicts, calling on parents to pay attention to their children from the danger of addiction to the Internet and mobile phones by organizing time to use it in scientifically correct and useful ways and directing to collective games for the child, especially those that develop his intellectual sense.
