The research consists of conducting spectroscopic and chemical studies on certain tin compounds exposed to γ-rays, and establishing the relationship that links the yield of divalent tin R(Sn+2) as a function of the exposure dose D. It was observed that the yield of divalent tin R(Sn+2) increases with the increase of γ-ray exposure dose, as shown in Figure (1-1), along with an interpretation of the stability of different oxidation states of tellurium as revealed by Mössbauer spectra.
