The discussion and arbitration of the graduation projects (Final Design Project (2) in Chemical Engineering) for the fifth-year students at the College of Chemical Industries Engineering for the summer semester of the academic year 2023-2024 was held on Monday 8/26/2024.
The projects included many topics of great importance in chemical engineering that revolve around process engineering, polymer technology, environmental engineering, and water treatment. Some projects addressed the foundations of designing some processes and devices in chemical engineering, and some addressed the synthesis of types of polymers from renewable sources for use as bioplastics, and the synthesis of polymers with high adsorption properties and their use in specific environmental applications such as removing oil spills floating on the surface of the water. Some of them also discussed solutions to some of the environmental problems caused by waste and wastewater from factories.
The project topics were distinguished by their research content of an academic scientific nature, in addition to the practical benefit that allows the student to enter the labor market and contribute to finding innovative solutions to some of the challenges facing the chemical industries.
