The discussion and arbitration of graduation projects (Final Design Project (2) in Petroleum Engineering) for fifth-year students at the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering for the summer semester of the academic year 2023-2024 was held on Saturday 24/8/2024 and Sunday 25/8/2024.
The topics of the projects were distinguished by their research content of an academic scientific nature, and some projects were distinguished by the applied design aspect, of practical importance in the oil industry, which allows for the presentation of constructive ideas to solve many of the problems facing workers and supervisors in the Syrian oil and gas fields.
Some topics related to exploration and drilling for oil and gas in Syrian territorial waters and the Syrian coastal region were also discussed, reviewing the drilling fluids that can be used when drilling offshore wells and the types of offshore platforms that can be used.
The discussions were also characterized by accuracy and seriousness scientifically and academically by the judging and discussion committees, and the students were distinguished by their presentations of their projects, which reflects their efforts to crystallize their research ideas and their mastery of the use of modern technology.
