As part of strengthening academic and scientific cooperation, Dr. Samer Rahhal, a representative of the German-Syrian Scientific Research Foundation, visited the Arab University for Science and Technology in Hama on May 4, where they discussed a draft agreement and an action plan for future cooperation. This visit aims to develop academic relations and enhance the capabilities of teaching staff and graduate students by organizing specialized workshops and training courses. The possibility of sending specialized experts to train academic staff and provide support to students wishing to complete their studies in Germany was also discussed.
In a statement, Professor Adnan Younes, President of the University, emphasized that this initiative represents a strategic step toward strengthening higher education and scientific research in partnership with international academic institutions, achieving a future vision in line with the aspirations of the new Syria, and enhancing its academic and research capabilities. He also highlighted the university's commitment to providing an innovative educational environment that supports its students and enables them to achieve their academic ambitions. For his part, Dr. Samer Rahhal explained that this visit comes within the framework of the German-Syrian Foundation's efforts to advance scientific research and exchange expertise, noting that "the Foundation works to provide the necessary support to academic staff, which contributes to the development of the educational and research process at the university." Proposed cooperation mechanisms were also discussed, which include organizing workshops and training courses in various fields, sending specialized experts to train teaching staff and graduate students, in addition to providing support in sending university invitations to students wishing to complete their studies in Germany, working to establish joint scientific and research activities such as seminars and conferences, and providing the necessary logistical support to organize events.
