Simple, accurate and reliable spectrophotometric method has been developed for the quantitative determination of Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, in pure and pharmaceutical formulations. The method developed on the interaction of vitamin studied with potassium iodide and potassium iodate in aqueous medium, where due ions iodine to iodine-free and then reacts iodine free with a surplus of ions iodide to form the output promiscuous in the water yellow color triiodide (I3-)complex. at the temperature of the laboratory 27.0±0.5C. The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the absorbance at 290, 335 nm. Method was adopted for constructing the calibration curve. The linearity range was found to be(0.5-20.0)μ/mL. The correlation coefficient for wave absorption maximum 290, 335nm are 0.9949 and 0.9998 The limit of detection were 0.33, 0.74 μg/mL. respectively. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the determination of Pyridoxine Hydrochloride in pharmaceutical dosage forms with no interference with the excipients. Statical comparison of the results shows that there is no significant difference between the proposed method and pharmacopeial method.
