Vildagliptin is a new marketed drug in Syria. To our best knowledge no monographe has been established for it. A simple, precise, accurate, cost effective method has been developed for determination of Vildagliptin in bulk and pharmaceutical form. HCl (0.5M) has been used as a solvent and Vildaglptin has absorbance at the wavelength of maximum λmax= 203. For validation, Proposed method was precise with RSD less than 2%. Linearity test was approved within range of 10-40 μg/ml for with correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9983. Accuracy was 100.17%. LOD and LOQ were 0.85 μg/ml and 2.565 μg/ml, respectively. the spike recovery of vildagliptin in tablet was 99.3%, so this method has been successfully applied on national pharmaceutical product
